What you should NOT lift with a suction lifter

Some materials and situations are unsuitable for suction lifters. The most important limits.

Porous and rough surfaces

Concrete, brick, untreated wood and porous natural stone allow air through or do not form a tight seal. The vacuum does not build up reliably.

The exception is rough but dense surfaces with soft pads. A test lift is mandatory there too.

People

Suction lifters are expressly not approved for transporting people. Never use them to lift people.

Even with a high rated load, a suction lifter is a load handling device, not a personnel carrier. If the vacuum drops, there is no second safety device.

Damaged or wet loads

  • Do not lift glass with cracks or edge damage.
  • Clean and dry wet or greasy surfaces beforehand.
  • Painted surfaces may come loose, test carefully.
  • Do not use suction on flexible materials such as film or tarpaulins.
  • Hazardous environments

Additional safety rules apply over traffic routes, over people and near power lines. Clarify the cordon in advance and do not leave heavy loads hanging unattended.
