Vibration in tiling: what it really does

The problem under the slab

On large format adhesive is often spread unevenly. Voids are the result and show up later in the tap test.

Fine oscillations set the adhesive moving and spread it more evenly.

When vibration pays off

The benefit is largest on thick slabs and formats from about 60 x 60 cm. On small tiles pure suction is enough.

Vibration tools cost more and weigh more. If you rarely lay large format you can skip them.

Combined units

Some models combine lifter and shaker. That saves a step and a tool.

On combined units check whether the rated load also applies with vibration running.
