Lifting safety: 10 rules for the site

From the visual check to a safe stance: the key rules for handling vacuum lifters.

Before every lift

Check pad, seal and display. Clean pad, undamaged lip, stable vacuum: only then lift.

Check the slab weight and compare it with double the rated load.

During the lift

Lift with a straight back and close to the body. Do not twist heavy slabs abruptly.

Keep an eye on the display. If the value drops, set the slab down under control.

Overhead and on scaffolding

For overhead work increase the headroom clearly and wear a helmet. Keep the area under the load clear.

Never work under a suspended slab. A brief pressure drop is enough.
