Large-format tiling: when a gripster becomes essential

From which size it gets critical

From about 60 x 60 cm a slab becomes unwieldy. Lifting it with a knee strains the back and risks breakage.

Large format from 120 x 60 cm is usually lifted by two people with suction lifters. Rated load then matters most.

Two units beat one

On very large slabs two lifters spread the load and allow a controlled turn. Look for a set or two matching units.

A visible pressure reading at both points shows whether both pads hold.

Vibration while laying

Vibration tools create fine oscillations and spread adhesive more evenly under the slab. This reduces voids.

For normal formats pure suction is enough. Vibration pays off mainly on large and thick slabs.
