Gripsters for glass and windows: what matters

Smooth surfaces are ideal

A lifter grips glass especially well because the surface is smooth and tight. Cleanliness is the prerequisite.

Grease, silicone or dust reduce the grip at once. Clean the pane and pad before every lift.

Large panes with two people

Glass doors and large panes are lifted with two lifters. The load stays controlled and the pane twists less.

Look for round, clean pads without cracks.

Rated load with headroom

A 6 mm pane weighs about 15 kg per square metre, a 10 mm pane about 25 kg. Work out the area and choose double the rated load.
